BPB Formula’s new ThermoMold range has been specifically developed for the metal casting industry’s needs. Our products are used for a wide variety of purposes including investment or precious metal casting (gold, silver) pressure or static casting of metals with high temperature melting points such as aluminium, copper and brass, and non-ferrous metal alloys, and for making bronze statue pieces. The ThermoMold range enables the production of intricate pieces for the aeronautic, electronic and automobile industries, where accuracy and precision are required. It is also used for making aluminium moulds for shoe sole and car tyre manufacturers, and for casting gold and silver to make jewellery items, or bronze for statue pieces... Plaster moulds are the starting point for the process. Molten metals (often aluminium is used) are cast into plaster moulds, designed to reproduce the intricate detail required for the final piece. When cooled in water, the plaster mould disintegrates leaving the cast metal piece. The cast metal mould is subsequently used for casting rubber or resin to make shoe soles, tyres. Plaster provides pieces that have fine surface detail, and accurate dimensional reproduction, which allows manufacturers to make pieces in one phase, with reworking after casting, thereby leading to productivity gains. |
